Evanston is home to passionate people. A center for some of the most caring, vibrant people in all of Chicagoland. Which is why The Autobarn Auto Group is proud to count itself among that community, as Evanston’s home for those who are passionate about cars.
After more than 20 years in Evanston, we know we couldn’t be The Autobarn Auto Group without the wonderful support of our friends and neighbors who also call Evanston home. We would like to believe that over those years we have established ourselves as a well-respected fellow citizen in the community. So we do our best to support the community right back.
We’re proud of our past sponsorship of Turin Bicycles and the annual Evanston Grand Prix Bike Race. We’ve helped financially, with manpower for the entire event, and by supplying pace cars.
At Evanston Township High School, the new Mazda Tribute we donated to the Evanston Police Department can still be seen doing crossing guard duty. We also sit on the Automotive Advisory Committee at ETHS and have recently made a commitment to establish an internship program, which will see two Evanston students working with us each summer and one or more ETHS graduates joining our Hire & Train Program.
We have also been the main sponsor for YEA Day (Young Evanston Artists), helping financially as well as donating our manpower and meeting space to help meet their needs. This relationship has been steady for more than five years and has helped us earn recognition as a recipient of the Evanston Arts Committee’s Arts and Business Leadership Award.
Our donated Mazda CX-5 can be seen in use by the 311 Center as a roving billboard. This vehicle is driven around the Evanston area, participating in local events to help develop awareness of this very important service.
We were recently the title sponsor for Lincoln Elementary School’s annual fund raiser at Dawes House, and look forward to more involvement with this great (and tastefully renovated!) elementary school.
Richard Kirkpatrick, our general manager, can be found at Evanston’s Farmers Market most Saturday mornings around 7 am with one of our green vehicles, answering questions from local residents about environmentally conscious vehicles. Please come say hi!
